Well I took my Jade Pearl baby home yesterday and had my first extended ride. It was about a 60 mile ride on the interstate. I varied my speed and kept the RPM's down the best I could <BG>. First off the power stock is unbelievable. I can only imagine what slip ones, breather and that flash does. Handling with the fairing was feather light. To be honest when I was starting my quest for a new bike I thought I would want a RG with the frame mounted fairing. Personally, I find this much easier to maneuver in slow speed. Although I did like the RG too. Think the stock speakers suck so an upgrade will be needed there eventually ( the RG ones sounded better but they are supposed to be the same). Shock adjustment is ridiculous. You have to take the saddlebag off? I had the stealer set mine in the middle as my other does ride occasionally so I sprang for the detachable sissy bar and an oversized pad for her. Got the bag guards too. Now the bad news: OMFG the buffeting is terrible with this crap windshield. It's like having no windshield. But an aftermarket or Wind Splitter along with some fangs should take care of most of that. All in all Im a happy camper. Hopefully this bike is taking me to retirement.

Sounds like you already have a list for upgrades. Lots of different windshields out there to try and reviews here for them. Fork fangs or fork wind deflectors will make a big difference. Bunch of different ways to go on the sound system and there are reviews here for that.

Pictures of you ride or it didn't happen lol

Good luck and keep us posted

Actually I may have been hasty on the speaker impression. I must have had an unclear station at the dealership because when I set up my Bluetooth today my iPod sounded great. Just need to get a better shield and I should be good to go. How do you like your wind splitter shield? I'm almost 5'7" so I'm thinking the 7". Thanks for your reply.

I no longer have the wind splitter I installed a clearview and it's 100 times better then the wind splitter. Just sent the windsplitter off to another member here and hoping he love's it. As for the tunes I had the wind splitter on for over 15,000 miles before changing out. Invested a lot into the best sound system and once I changed the windshield I could here it a lot better also. I'm 6-1 with a long torso so I need a taller windshield for comfort. I still see over the windshield I put on but the wind buffeting and noise has been mostly canceled. AT 80 MPH I couldn't hear my stereo but now I can hear it at below half volume or lower. Have also added a soundz customz fairing and bag speakers with a 600 watt amp.

I would love to get a Clearview but I think even their small or Sport would be too tall for me (as it was with my Voyager). The Vulcan guys love them too. I'm also contemplating an LRS but I read somewhere hear about installation issues and their smallest is also 7" so I am going to have to measure. I will also go to Harley and try to demo a Wind Splitter. The infotainment was a big selling point for me so I am sure I will be upgrading my sound system also in the future. But right now I'm concentrating on getting rid of all this wind. Thanks for your help.

Erilflynn, I came off a 2010 Ultra Classic to my new 2016 Street Glide Special and am loving it. I also had an issue with the height of the windshield and installed an 8" which solved the wind buffeting to a certain extent. I just ordered the Cosmic Blue Pearl color matched lower fairings and passing lamps. The lowers should also help with the wind...I have had the bike for two months now and have around 1300 miles on her and I love the handling and power it has...I kept the Vance & Hines turndowns from my Ultra and installed them and after the above mods I will be ordering the true duel headers, stage 1 intake and FP3....

Greetings from/to another Jersey guy. All I've done is basically ride the bike back from Barb's about 60 makes away so I am quite anxious to get familiar with my ride. But it s winter now so I have to be smart. First things first and that's to get a better windscreen. That and some Airlites should get me through the winter.
