I have been thinking about black exhausts for my bike. My SG is Vivid Black so I think it will look good, plus I don't like cleaning a lot of chrome- I'd rather be riding. ANyhow, I saw a pic online the other day of a V&H Propipe in black. Don't know if the pic was bad, or what- but the pipe looked almost gray. That may be fine with Black Denim bike, but will look like crap on a glossy paint bike like Vivid Black. So, I was thinking about just going with chrome.
Then, yesterday I saw 2 used bikes at the local dealer with black exhausts and they looked fine. So, I am back to considering black pipes. But, I want to make sure they don't fade.
Do any of you have black pipes- either ProPipe, or Rheinhart and can tell me if they have faded with time? Also, since it is really just the shields that are black can you just remove them and paint them when they fade with no issues?
