Bassani DNT WOW

So as my other posts show, I've been searching for a deeper and throaty exhaust, as I have not been happy with my Screamin Eagle Street Performance Exhaust. So I looked at the CFR's but everyone was out of stock. So I did some research on the Bassani DNTs. I located a you tube video of a 2015 CVO with the Fullsac DX headpipes like I have. Granted a video doesn't really give you 100%, but the surround sound helped. So I put them on today and WOW what a difference. So here I show my ignorance. I looked through the Screamin Eagle Exhaust and I could not see through them. The Bassani, whole different ball game. The bike feels as though it has quite a bit more power and throttle response. I assume because of the amount of exhaust gas its pushing out opposed to the more restrictive Screamin Eagles? Or a placebo effect. I take the bike in on Thursday to have it retuned for the new exhaust. If your on the fence I'd say go for it. Yes at 65 MPH at 2500 rpm yin 6th gear, you can hear the radio just fine.

My neighbor has it on his '15 Road Glide Special and whenever we go riding I am really impressed with the sound of his bike. His has adjustable baffles and Harley tuned his up with V&H header and it runs really strong. He rides that bike like he own the street.....LOL......

I got the bike re-tuned and it took about an hour and a half. I noticed the bike runs a lot better with the new exhaust and tune. The EITMS has been deactivated and the bike is a little slower from take off, but boy does it get up there quick. The throttle response is much better and when I had the EITMS on the bike used to vibrate now I don't feel it. Also when downshifting the bike doesn't seem to reve as high as before. Plus it sounds very very nice. If your on the fence with this exhaust I recommend it. I've noticed such a change that I will only change cams and associated items and not do the 110 conversion.

Glad to hear that you are really liking the DNTs...they truly are a great slip-on so its not surprising to hear your great review.

I purchased Bassani DNTs in August for my 2016 FLHXS. Had new Fuel Moto 2/1/2 header, FM Billet Stage 1, Power Vision tuner and ordered the DNT from Iron Aces, a great shop with outstanding customer service not to mention excellent pricing.

Bottom line, all was installed, and even though Jamie provided a map for the Power Vision, I had the bike Dyno'ed at Horny Toad Harley in Temple Texas. After 300 miles or so, the right muffler turned brown from the clamp and extended about 2 inches beyond the heat shield. I have never had this happen on any muffler and I have been riding since 1970. By the way, the DNTs sound great, deep and not raspy. Outstanding while cruising as well.

I contacted Jeremy with Bassani on Sept 7, 2016. Jeremy responded that he had submitted the claim for warranty and he further advised it would take about 2 weeks to build a can. Since that date, neither Jeremy or Bassani has responded to my follow up emails I forwarded to Jeremy the first week of October.

Regardless of whether Bassani will warranty this chrome issue or not, they should at least have the courtesy to respond to my inquiries instead of simply ignoring my emails. Bassani, you actually may learn why your product performed in such a way to avoid having another dissatisfied customer, and if you are monitoring this blog, grow up and give me a call!

I am guessing this incident is an exception to the rule and most will not have this experience, and I hope you don't. If you do, I hope you have more success than I dealing with Jeremy and Bassani. Regardless, a great sounding muffler.

I'm totally bummed to hear that no one from Bassani has updated you regarding this. Regardless of what their stance is going to be on the issue you are experiencing, they at least need to update you on it...whether that update is good, bad or indifferent.

Sounds like a lean tune issue rather than a muffler issue.

Buckshot, lean tune is exactly what I thought, but in fact the PV tune had AFR 12.9-13. Any more rich and Al Gore would have made me his poster child for his "poluting the environment" video. Regardless of the reason for the issue, a response from Bassani is just good business. Whether they warranty or not, matters not.

Recheck the clamp on the affected muffler where it bolts to the header pipe for a possible crack. My buddy just found a crack in his exhaust and it was turning the chrome cover on top of his transmission gold. He had the crack welded up and the problem has been solved.

Agreed on the contact. Hope they get back to you with some type of resolution.

Update re: Bassani

I am pleased to report that I received a long awaited response from Bassani today regarding the chrome discoloration that appeared on one of my mufflers and a rattle in the muffler as well. Bassani advised they will warranty and the replacement is being manufactured by their vendor. Bassani has committed to replacement and I will let you know if/when it is delivered.

I also would like to say that Lindsey Trausch of Iron Aces Speed Shop has been helpful and has expressed concerened throughout this process. Iron Aces Speed Shop understands and exemplifies "customer service." Iron Aces Speed Shop has earned my business. Thank you Lindsey.

Regarding performance and sound, Bassani DNT mufflers are simply awesome. Deep, deep tone, not raspy when you dig in the throttle, yet mellow at cruising speed. The sound is exactly what I was looking for in a muffler. But, don't believe me, check 'em out yourself.

Can't thank you enough for the kind words @Reauxdom...it's truly been my pleasure to assist in any way possible throughout the process and I'm pleased to hear that progress is being made to remedy the warranty issue with Bassani.

Thanks again, it means a great deal to us to have your support!!

As I promised, I wanted to advise that Bassani made good on the warranty for the discolored muffler, and for having done so, I can say that I am confident Bassani stands behind their products. At least that has been my experience. It has also been my experience that Bassani customer service does not communicate well with customers, but ultimately they spoke volumes when they delivered on the warranty. Thanks to Jeremy of Bassani.

I would also like to recognize Lindsey of Iron Aces Speed Shop for sharing her knowledge and expertise and helping me to understand the issues I encountered with the discoloration of the muffler. I sincerely appreciate dealing with honest and helpful folks whose integrity is reflected in their business model. Thank you Lindsey.

That's great to hear they came thru for you!!!
Sometimes sucks dealing with crappy sides like that. But if they take care of the customer in the long run. I guess that's what counts. Would love to hear a video of you get a chance
