While riding yesterday my front brake lever became very soft with lever reaching the grip. When home I opened the MC and the fluid was extremely low. I topped off the fluid and front brakes are back. Test ride around neighborood seems to check out.

Iv'e read alot of problems with the ABS and am curious on if I should pursue any additional steps,or leave alone and ride. Brake pads are ok, only 10K miles.

Thank you,
Chris

According to the Harley-Davidson service manual the entire system ABS front &rear brakes as well as the clutch need to have system flushed and new fluid installed. I dont know if this is the cause of soft lever when applying the front brake. You didn’t say if you noticed any fluid leaking from the front or anywhere else. Dot 4 brake fluid can suck in a lot of water over time and may contribute to your problem.

I don't see any visible leaks. Topping of the fluid seemed to work. Just curious if I should pursue other steps,or have dealer pick-up bike.

If it was my bike I would consider having it looked at.

If your having to add fluid it's leaking somewhere. Could be the smallest of leaks or something developing. You should change the brake fluid every couple of years and flush the system. Having done this a couple times that DOT 4 gets really nasty after a while. Check your lines all the way to the ABS module maybe just a small seep.

Bike dropped off at dealership this morning. Too much to chance to not have it checked out.
