Have fasteners been re-designed ? My SG is about 6 weeks old and taking in for first service next week. I have had the bags off a few times for slip-on installation and cleaning. I have noticed that the retaining clips are already starting to wiggle themselves loose.
Its sad that no one is able to come up with a better idea than the twist knobs, sure its reliable and simple, but its 2016 we shouldnt have to be engineering a better solution to solve their problem.
Mine is a 2016, wonder if they will include them soon enough lol I already ordered the twist knob setup, but i plan on only using 1 in each bag.
For the MSRP of 23K i shouldnt have to install a $10 - $20 setup to save a $1k bag. It F****** pisses me off.

Wondering if he looked at the peg or the spring clips the peg goes into???? The spring clip was the issue with bad metal not keeping it's springiness. What I'm thinking is you got stooped because you can't tell the difference looking at the spring clip from where he did unless he took it out.
Just my 2 cents
Actually, those are what airplanes have been using for years for quick access panels and they've worked out great. I suspect the quality of HD's fasteners weren't as heavy duty nor certified like aircraft parts are. The idea is great, just stop using cheap Chinese materials and labor.
One thing I am thinking about designing is a system that lets me know I didn't close my lid tight. I get tired of people honking at me, trying to let my know crap was flying out of my open bags....
